Here is yet another Yoko Ono “Give Me Something” remix for your enjoyment. This retooling is a fantastical orchestral variation that would be as at home emanating from the bowels of Lincoln Center as it would be falling from the mouth of a lip-syncing drag queen. Either way, it’s pretty epic stuff.

TMAP: Between My Head and The Sky has been a such a critically acclaimed success. Is that [critical success] important to you and how does it feel to have the world’s leading music publications finally singing your praises?

YO: I feel I am being discovered at 77. Not all artists can say they get discovered ever. So I feel I am lucky. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

TMAP: At 77, you have the #1 dance track on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play Chart and it’s relevant and completely danceable. How do you decide if a remixed track is good? Do you dance to it?

YO: I dance in my mind.

TMAP: Your son, Sean produced the album. What was that like working with him? Did you ever butt heads? Will you do it again in the future since this endeavor proved to be so well received.

YO: I am sure we will one day. But right now, Sean is busy making his own album with Charlotte Kemp Muhl called GOASTT. Check it out, when it comes out.

TMAP: You have always been one to push boundaries and buttons. Your sound is more aberrant and experimental than most music out there with it’s screeching guitar feedback and feeling-filled nonsensical interjections. Are there any artists out there that you find creatively appealing? Who do you find inspiring?

YO: I don’t really know. I’m always living in my own head.

TMAP: As a side note to Ms. Ono this isn’t a question but we attended the dress rehearsal for your show at BAM and it literally made us teary eyed. It really felt like the whole opera house was full of love as the finale ended with everyone holding hands swaying to “Give Peace a Chance.” We are so happy for your critical acclaim. Please be well and keep making music!
