Who has whored out their music more – The Black Keys or Vampire Weekend? If you own a television, you’ve probably heard either one (or both) of their music blaring in the background of some commercial. Pssh, indie is so mainstream these days. The good-humored lads of The Black Keys (Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney) and Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend appeared on The Colbert Show to boast their sellout status with exhibit after exhibit of commercials they’ve had their music featured in. Vampire Weekend - or Vampi Weekers as we like to call them – just got a Twitter and have used their first tweet to give us this Cecile remix of “White Sky.” Download it here for a limited time. It’s a brilliant remix, transforming the light and fun 3 minute-long track into an almost 7 minute journey of tropical/oriental sounds and intriguing minimalism. Another thing to note on their Twitter is their wallpaper, which is a huge picture of Contra cover gal Kirsten Kennis, who is suing the band for using her image without permission.
