Memphis’ The Commercial Appeal published a statement from Shelby County Medical Examiner Dr. Karen E. Chancellor stating “cocaine toxicity, and that alcohol was a contributing factor in his death.” So there you have it. Another rockn’roll suicide – a cliché end to a life that was anything but. May his restless soul lie in peace. Amen.

I have to say, the thought of someone else ripping him away from this world gives me more comfort than thinking he played Russian roulette with heroin.

“According to Fox, police are now searching for a possible suspect and asking the public to come forward with any information. Tips can be submitted via phone at (901) 528-2247 or at 528cash.org. They’re offering a reward of up to $1000 for any information that results in an arrest.” – Fox News article that has since been removed.

Simply stated: the man shouldn’t be dead. I’m rendered physically/emotionally despondent by this news. Somebody punch me in the face; Jay would have… Try and cheer yourself up with the new Hot Chip “I Feel Better” (sniff).
