Experiencing the legitimate fear of getting trampled by a crowd after getting hit in the face and hair pulled? Most definitely check ✓✓

Courtney Love doing something bat-shit crazy? … Surprisingly, not so much.
Love, the front woman and only member left from the original line-up of Hole, is a scandal in a baby doll dress. The crowd was buzzing with anticipation of what she would do that night, recalling some memorable C. Love moments from her “glory days” like when she exposed her breasts or threw her make-up at the crowd. Unfortunately for some of us, Courtney was well-composed, well-dressed, and limited to only a few expletives (at one point she called us “motherfuckers”). The set itself was also far too short – only 45 minutes – which left us painfully craving for more. Maybe girlfriend is getting old. They made sure Love’s vocals were the foreground of the music, with all the other instruments as the background. There’s a scratchy, untouched quality about her voice. And especially during the slower songs, it’s violently vulnerable. Despite the short set, the show was rock n’ roll goodness, especially because I was caught up in the moshpit and singing my lungs out to her old tracks like “Doll Parts” and “Violet.”

They made me check in my camera, so I couldn’t take any pictures on my own. Thankfully, I met a kind boy named Erik on the subway, who was generous enough to send me his photos. Enjoy!

It’s about goddamn time. I’ve long wondered why the socially autistic genius that is Billy Corgan stood by Courtney Love for as long as he did. The lead singer of Hole is just that – a veritable black hole devoid of talent and self-awareness. Corgan in an interview with Rolling Stone referred to Love as an “abyss.” And regarding her use of songs he penned on Hole’s upcoming album, Nobody’s Daughter, he is quoted with saying “it would be a real big problem, because I haven’t given my permission.” So Nobody’s Daughter may find itself indefinitely in limbo until this matter gets sorted in court. Well, Courtney, Karma’s a bitch, huh. This must be Karmic kickback for her long-standing court battle with Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic over rights to Nirvana L.L.C. Listen to Love outright admit that Corgan writes all her music in the video below (at 3:54 minutes) while she drags Dave Grohl’s name through the mud. Brace yourself Courtney – your future holds many more karmic reparations to be reaped. All’s fair with Love when it’s war.

This really appeals to the white trash in me (you can take the girl outta Florida but you cannot take the Florida outta the girl). Also making the track more palatable is the fact that it sounds more like co-writer Billy Corgan’s work than Courtney Bat-Sh*t-Nuts Love (double plus). Fun Factoid: Billy Corgan is responsible for Courtney Love having a career as he penned much of Celebrity Skin which established Love as an artist in her own right rather than just Kurt Cobain’s fame whoring Madonna obsessed widow riding his coattails to grunge super-stardom. But that, my friends, is tangential at best and must be reserved for storytime on another day. Until then, enjoy this most excellent track off the forthcoming Nobody’s Daughter whose release date is still TBD.
