Charlotte Gainsbourg may be well known for her role in Antichrist and for being the young doppelgänger of iconic rocker Patti Smith, but her songstress self is a folk-pop softy. Beck took interest in her for her 2009 release IRM but this time, she’s teamed up with Conor O’Brien (not to be confused with a certain, similarly-named late night host). O’Brien’s own band’s (Villagers) track makes up the B-side to “Memoir.” You can stream Gainsbourg’s new tune as a preview here (Domino). Its physical release date is none other than Record Store Day (April 16th), but you can also expect to see it on her forthcoming LP, due this fall.

Charlotte Gainsbourg plays a convincing if not pretty puppet to Beck’s ventriloquist on their collaboration album IRM. Beck penned the record and Ms. Gainsbourg adds her vocal stylings to the setup which has seemingly worked out well for everyone involved (we like). This latest video is a scenic romp through what looks to be Big Sur with some fantastical footwork thanks to some clever CGI efforts. Enjoy!
