Live Review: Twin Sister At Tortilla Factory 4/17/2010

Twin Sister played to packed crowd at Tortilla Factory in Bushwick this past Saturday night. There has been a lot of buzz surrounding their live show and they lived up to heightened expectations. Lead singer Andrea Estella showed grace under fire when an adorable dolt kept invading her personal space; he eventually bequeathed his hat unto her and was persuaded to be more of an observer and less of a participant by Weed Hounds’ bassist, Patrick Stankard. The band played a lively 45 minute set to a very pleased crowd. The take home message of the evening was that Twin Sister was indeed a band to watch with a growing following and an amazing rhythm section manned by Bryan Ujueta on drums and Gabel D’Amico on bass. Also noteworthy in its own right was guitarist Eric Cardona’s falsetto harmonies which provided a beautiful compliment and at times a proficient mimic of Estella’s fluid vocals. Enjoy TMAP’s video of Twin Sister performing “Lady Daydream” from Saturday night’s performance and plan on attending their next show at Mercury Lounge April 28th to see what all the hype is about for yourself (wink).
