Concert: Tanlines “Real Life” Brooklyn Bowl Show Tonight

If you think bongo beats and synth-sounds played by two white guys sounds like a disaster of epic proportions waiting to happen, think again — it can be done well; that is, with some stellar musicianship and finesse. Tanlines caught our attention when they opened for Julian Casablancas and their single “Real Life” has yet to leave the office iPod’s On-the-Go playlist (for all my fellow white girls that like to think they can pull off African dance, trust me, this sh*t’s the jam). They play a show tonight at Brooklyn Bowl with The Acrylics, so if Hot Chip isn’t your cup of tea come out and support two noteworthy local bands. It all starts with you, kiddies.
