Concert: Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson Show at Glasslands

So the four name wonder that is Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson is playing tonight at Glasslands in Williamsburg opening for Kyp Malone’s (TV on the Radio) side project Rain Machine. If you don’t know about MBAR educate yourself by listening this little ditty entitled Woodfriend, my personal fave. Robinson has an evocative story telling style to his music with a folk sensibility while remaining firmly planted within the genre of pop. His voice and delivery are really curious. Malone is quoted with saying “He is in my opinion without a contemporary rival when it comes to story telling. Creating nuanced, breathing character portraits inside of pop structures. Like a lot of good music his songs feel like they are filling a predetermined space, like the ether was just waiting for him to connect the dots and give voice to them.” Take your valentine to his show or pick one up. His love songs are sure to soften the blackest of hearts.
