OK -- so we know that Marion Cotillard can sing. Mademoiselle won an Oscar for her portrayal of Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose, in which she nailed the chanteuse’s delivery and signature rapid vibrato; no small feat. But often times things shouldn’t be a question of can; they should be a question of why, or rather, is this a good idea? I mean, I guess if I had John Galliano up my ass all the time telling me how gorge and fab I was, even I could lose touch with reality for an unconscionable moment in time. But my short sojourn in lala-landia would not last long enough to record the clunker found on ladydior.com.
Mlle. Cotillard and Franz Ferdinand (again why?) collaborated to produce this lovely if not superfluous little ditty below. Also included the Dior short film “Lady Noir” because I like Marion so I figured I’d include something she is actually good at: acting (looking gorge while emoting). Pour Kekech… parce qu’elle est ma Marion.
