Where The Wild Things Are doesn’t premiere until October 16th but the soundtrack, courtesy of Karen O and The Kids, drops today. Its streaming live on imeem.com. Its a collection of 14 uptempo berceuses sung by Jersey’s chosen (once) indie chanteuse and a star studded cast of contributors including: Bradford Cox (Deerhunter), Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age), Jack Lawrence (The Dead Weather, The Raconteurs) and an ‘untrained’ children’s choir, whatever that means. The album seems to capitalize on the mood set by Arcade Fires’ Wake Up, which has been used in the movie’s promos since early Spring 2009. Overall, kid friendly fare; expect to hear in Starbucks soon.
