So, Girls, the San Fran band that’s been in everyone’s mouth as of late, is growing on me. Their first ‘single’ (are they signed?) ‘Hellhole Ratrace’ what with its opening line of ‘I am sick of tired of the way that I feel/I’m all alone with my deep thoughts/ …my heart-ache/… my good intentions… I don’t wanna cry my whole life through…’ rubbed me raw the wrong way. I leave you for the weekend with the vid for ‘Lust For Life.’ Its very Californ-I-A featuring various pretty hipster girls/gays lip-synching to the peppy tune; and on a dreary Fall Friday like this a little California dreaming can’t hurt. You know, as long as John Phillips stays dead.
